The first medical marijuana facilities in Washington, DC, are expected to open in April, The Washington Examiner reports. Three businesses are prepared to accept patients who will be allowed to buy two ounces a month. Prescription pot was legalized in DC in 1988, but Congress prevented implementation until 2009. Since then, local regulations and approvals have kept medical marijuana patients, dispensaries and cultivators waiting.
